Friday Photo: Let it Snow – Jordan

I was hearing reports that it was planning to snow this weekend so not sure how that is going to affect my plans.  I was talking to recently and made me realize that this time last year was around the time when I landed in Jordan for my several months of study.  It is amazing how quickly time evaporates!  I am working on my next travel plans as we speak, and I’m hopefully going to India soon if my visa comes in time (more on that in another post).  So the thoughts of snow led me back to a time last January when I arrived back from a trip to Qatar to some crazy weather in Jordan.  Ahh the times and the memories.  Thankfully I didn’t have a car over there in Jordan as you can imagine the normally crazy streets just got even more crazy!  But I have fond memories of those days as well, watching the students (and participating) in snowball fights around the University.  Walking along the snow with other students to the Carrefour hoping to get some food to last through the weather and later sitting in a traditional café and having us get a lot of confusing stares from all the traditionally dressed locals.  Memories are a strange thing though, you realize how much time has passed, for instance talking with an old work buddy and realizing some memory happened over 4 years ago and yet it felt more like yesterday.  We had talked a lot about travel as we had both traveled so much together to so many places over the years (mostly work related), and all the amazing adventures and experiences.  The one thing though you realize (which is one of the main reasons I want to go to India) is that time moves so quickly and opportunities as well so you need to take advantage of them while you can.
