Built by Emperor Diocletian, the famous Diocletian’s palace makes up the center of Split, Croatia. It must have been quite the sight to see back in the ancient era where it still served its original purpose. The palace is far from being a museum in this town and is instead the bustling center of the beautiful city of Split. It is not a very large area but you could easily get lost wandering through the small streets and alleyways. You really get a sense that people do live and work in this area and its not just some tourist hot spot. I took this photo wandering through the streets in the early morning. I was one of the few people venturing out at this time of day.
